These 5 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTec COVID-19 vaccine were part of a batch of 975 administered to local patients at Bridport Medical Centre on the 30th December 2020. This was just the second clinic held in Bridport. To be there was fascinating, heart-warming, hope-giving, humbling and, more than anything, pretty emotional.

In a situation where everything was new, and with logistics and facilities stretched to the maximum, there could so easily have been chaos. Instead there was a teamwork between NHS staff and local community volunteers to do everything they could to meet the challenges of getting that huge number of patients through in one day. In the staff and volunteers I saw incredible patience, compassion, calm, and care. In the patients I saw gratitude, relief, and cautious hope.
